Studying at LMC has helped me become more independent, and one of the key skills I’ve developed so far is communication. At college, you're constantly interacting with staff and classmates, which really helps strengthen this skill further. The course really supports my professional journey by contributing to my personal development and growth, although studying at College takes dedication and hard work, it all continues to build valuable life skills.

Olivia joined LMC in September 2024 to study Forensic Science Level 3. Drawn by her interest in the criminal justice system, she’s developed key skills and confidence throughout the course. She hopes to progress to university to study Law, Criminology, or Forensic Science.

Olivia chose the Forensic Science Level 3 course because it offers a wide range of career opportunities across several sectors, including law enforcement. She has always had a strong interest in the criminal justice system and was keen to learn how suspects are identified through evidence analysis. This made the course an ideal choice for her interests.

One of Olivia’s favourite aspects of the course is learning various forensic analysis techniques and methods of evidence collection. She also enjoys the variety of lessons and topis, particularly forensic genetics, which she finds especially engaging.

My biggest accomplishment so far at College is becoming more confident in presenting my work and meeting new people. I have stepped out of my comfort zone more often, and it has helped me grow into a more confident person.

After completing the course, Olivia hopes to progress to university to study either Law & Criminology or Forensic Science. She is passionate about deepening her understanding of the criminal justice system and is eager to continue building the knowledge and skills that will support her future career. Her time at College has helped her become more focused and motivated, and she is now looking forward to the next stage of her academic journey.

I would definitely recommend this course to anyone interested in studying Forensic Science and Criminal Investigation. It also opens up a variety of career pathways, which are helpful for those who are unsure about which career pathway they want to pursue in the future.

My favourite aspect of my role is seeing learners who struggle to believe in themselves when they first begin their journey at LMC, but eventually realise that they are very capable. It is a lightbulb moment when they realise they can be or do anything they want to. Learners walk through our gates unsure of themselves and sometimes struggle to believe in their abilities, but by the end of their journey they walk out of LMC confident and ready to take on the world.

I would say come to College, study Beauty Therapy, be pampered, pamper clients, but be prepared to work hard for the qualifications to get far in the industry. It's a very rewarding career to go into, putting smiles on clients faces and giving them a new found confidence.
