Free Courses For Jobs
The ‘Free Courses for Jobs’ scheme allows adults aged 19+ to access a Level 3 qualification for free, with support available from the Government, helping students to gain skills that employers value and improve job prospects.
Eligibility
- Aged 19+ earning under £25,000 gross salary regardless of prior attainment
- You are over the age of 19 and unemployed
- You are aged 19 - 23 and earning over £25,000 and don't already hold a full Level 3 qualification
Please note: This criteria is only applicable to courses for the current academic year starting on or before 31/7/2024 to 31/8/2025

If you want the opportunity to use and develop practical skills, learn about an accessible vocational area, have fun, work hard and deal with the public then this is the course for you. LMC is a great community asset and I think the local district are lucky to have such a modern, flexible and engaging place of education.
I love working with such keen and dedicated staff and students. I also like how every day is different because we attract such a wide range of students including year 11 from local high schools aged 16-18 who apply to the full time courses, to adult students who attend the part time courses. It’s nice to work with so many people from all different backgrounds and cultures who share a passion for cooking.
My favourite part of this role is working with such an amazing team here at Lancaster & Morecambe College, and also being able to pass on my industry knowledge to all my students and support them in their journey to becoming a Beauty Therapist.
My role is to work alongside the tutors and students to ensure the work placements are secured, completed and recorded in line with procedural requirements. This is a simple description, as there is a lot of work behind the scenes to ensure this happens! I see good communication, administration, attention to detail and patience as key attributes of the role.
The most satisfying part of my job role is inspiring students to have the confidence to become beauty therapists and work in their dream careers.
I love working at Lancaster & Morecambe College with such an amazing team that are passionate about delivering outstanding teaching across the departments. The Apprenticeship courses at LMC are well developed programmes that offer students amazing opportunities and experiences, whilst allowing them to earn while they learn as they progress through the Apprenticeship.
